Professional Biography

  • Hello! This is my 12th year teaching in cluster one at Seven Oaks Elementary. In Cluster 1, I get the privilege of meeting our students in first grade and following them through second grade. It is a great experience to stay with the same students and parents for two years. I received my Bachelors in Liberal Arts from The Evergreen State College and then went on to achieve my Masters in Elementary Education from City University. I have also completed my Professional Certification.

Here are just some of my educational beliefs that I bring to the classroom everyday.
    1. High, realistic expectations show students you belive in them.
    2. ALL STUDENTS CAN LEARN. They might just need different approaches, more repetition, and alternative ways to demonstrate their learning.
    3. Children need opportunities to move, talk and have fun while learning.
    4. Building relationships with parents supports student growth.

About your teacher

  • Brett The most interesting thing about Mrs. Marshall is that I used to be a student at Seven Oaks! I was in 5th and 6th grade here at Seven Oaks, then moved on to Nisqually and River Ridge. My husband and I have two amazing boys, Brett and Sam. Brett will be in 4th grade this year and Sam will be a 1st grader. We have two crazy dogs, Lana and Maybelle and one silly cat named Amara. We live in the beautiful Lake Cushman area which means I have a little bit of a commute to school everyday. However, the commute isn't bad at all and it's worth it to work at such a wonderful school like Seven Oaks.
