Military and Family Life Counselors
The Military Family Life Counselors (MFLCs) are able to temporarily provide telehealth services to our active duty or newly retired military families from Evergreen Forest Elementary, Horizons Elementary, Meadows Elementary, Olympic View Elementary, Seven Oaks Elementary, Woodland Elementary, Salish Middle School, and River Ridge High schools.The counseling sessions will be conducted by the Magellan MFLC Zoom video conferencing application. The Zoom application meets all federal privacy regulations, and each counselor has a Magellan provided smartphone which is only used for business purposes. The option to record the session has been disabled from Zoom and Magellan’s MFLC communication policies prohibits recording of telephonic non-medical counseling services.
Support for Adults:
Telephonic and video non-medical counseling
Support for Children and Youth:
Individual video non-medical counseling sessions for minors age 13 to 17 (parent or guardian must be available at the start of each video session to give parental consent and provide line of sight requirements during the session)
Family video non-medical counseling for minors 6 to 12 years of age (parent or guardian must attend each session)
JBLM MFLCs have a great line-up of expertise and applicable learning experiences webinars from April 28th- June 2nd. All military connected parents and caregivers are welcome to attend. There is no registration needed for the presentations. It’s a call in and listen format, starting with a briefing of the MFLC program and ending with a general Q&A, along with contact information for individual questions. Some presentations topics they include are, The Three C's of Communication and Building Resiliency in children.
