5th Grade Band - Mr. Annis, Director
Welcome to the Olympic View Elementary Band! Playing music is a wonderful, rewarding and exciting skill to practice. Studies have repeatedly show that playing an instrument engages the brain in ways that other studies do not - participation in band is a wise choice for young students!
If you're interested in band, please plan to attend the informational meeting on Thursday, September 14th at 7:00pm in the Nisqually Middle School Gym. For more information, see this flier.
New to band? You're not alone! Around the state and nation, 5th grade is a common time for students to begin playing an instrument. In our district, 5th grade is the only year that a beginning band class is offered. While sometimes students begin later, these students rarely make a long-term committment to playing; the best opportunity to learn an instrument starts in 5th grade.
Want a few pointers to get you started on your instrument? Get focused instruction from band directors around the district Saturday, Sept. 16th at Kick Start 2017! See flier.
