Student Voice at NTPS

  • Did you know that students are the #1 source of information about our schools and the district? That's why student voice is a primary focus area for NTPS. Superintendent Clemens and the Board of Directors adopted a policy to appoint Student Advisors to the School Board. Each high school selects a student representative to serve on the School Board, attend meetings, and offer feedback. Annually, all students in grades 4-12 are surveyed to assess NTPS's organizational effectiveness.

Additionally, Supt. Clemens created a Superintendent's Student Advisory Council that includes representatives from each of our schools, from 5th, 8th and 12th grades, respectively. The group meets four times a year and discusses a variety of topics, including school culture and climate, community service, and leadership.

As part of the district’s Student Voice initiative, Superintendent Clemens meets with student leaders from all 24 schools each year to gain their perspectives and feedback on a variety of topics. The Council meets quarterly to discuss a variety of topics, including school culture and climate (compassion), community service, and leadership.
