Hi! I am a North Thurston Public Schools alumni! I was born in Germany and lived there 9 years, but when I moved to Washington I attended Evergreen Forest Elementary School, Nisqually Middle School, and graduated from River Ridge High School in 2007.
I did my first two years of college at South Puget Sound Community College and transferred to Saint Martin's University to complete my degree. I was the recipient of the Trustee Scholarship, an award given to only 2 transfer students per year based on GPA and commitment to community service. I graduated with a dual major of Elementary Education and Special Education, with an endorsement in Reading. I went back to school and recieved a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction degree from Western Governors University.
This is my sixth year teaching at South Bay Elementary School. My first two years were teaching special education, and last year was my third year teaching fifth grade. This year will be my fourth!
I am married, and have a Pomeranian/Pekingese mix named Kuma, and three cats, Noodle, Marx, and Heidi. I really like arts and crafts, and some of my favorite hobbies include reading, drawing, knitting and crochet, and sewing! I'm really excited to be teaching fifth grade again this year! :)
