Letter from Mr. Moore Devine

  • Mr. Moore Devine Hello Mustangs!
I am so excited to start this school year as your new Assistant Principal!
A little about me... I was born and raised in Olympia.  I attended North Thurston Public Schools as a child and graduated from River Ridge High School (just down the road!) I completed my undergraduate and graduate degrees in education at Hunter College, the City University of New York. I began my teaching career as a specialist (PK-5) and classroom teacher (Grade 5) in New York City before returning home to Washington in 2009.  I have taught first and second grades at North Thurston Public Schools.  I also served as an ELA instructional specialist in our district for four years, but most recently taught first grade here at Meadows from 2017-2020. I received my Principal certification from St. Martin's University.  I have been part of the Meadows community since 2009, and there is no place I'd rather be!
Remote Learning will bring lots of unique opportunities as well as challenges.  I will be working closely with our Remote Student Engagement Team (ReSET) this year.  Our main goal is to help remove any barriers that emerge for you during the course of remote learning.  The Meadows team is here to help whenever we can.  Please do not hesitate to reach out as needs arise, as well as share your hopes and dreams for your Meadows student.  We are concerned about both the academic and social/emotional growth of your student.  It will take all of us working together as a Meadows family to meet the needs of every learner and make Meadows the best it can be.  I look forward to partnering with each of you!
    “All Students Empowered and Future-Ready!”
