I received a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina. While there I was enrolled in the Army ROTC (Reserve Officer Training Corps) program and was commissioned as a 2nd lieutenant upon graduation. After serving on active duty in Virginia and Germany, I decided to change careers. While continuing as an Army Reserve officer in Lawton, Oklahoma, I attended Cameron University and earned an Associates of Science degree in Data Processing. I then began working as a computer programmer for Halliburton Services. As an Army wife, I moved where my husband was stationed. With our next move I changed careers again and began working as an Administrative Assistant, which I continued for many years. My next career change was becoming a homemaker. During this time I began working for North Thurston Public Schools as a substitute in non-teaching positions. I accepted the position of Career Center Specialist in December 2013 and have been loving it! ever since.
