November 22, 2017 - Bus drivers have a challenging and important job that requires a diverse set of skills, and tasks them with a significant amount of responsibility and accountability. They do their job safely, professionally, and go the extra mile whenever needed, both on and off their routes. Veronica Lezon is just one of 82 bus drivers for North Thurston Public Schools who is continually keeping our students safe with a compassionate heart.
November 22, 2017 - 16 NTPS teachers received grants at 9 of our elementary schools from the Thurston County School Retirees' Association Grant Committee this month. Congrats teachers! And thank you committee! The grants purchased books, STEM supplies, learning aids, and more!
November 20, 2017 - Recently, Salish Middle School ASB students recognized a need for increased kindness and positivitiy within their community and implemented the Ten Day of Kindness Challenge including daily themes, goals, and even community participation from Lacey Firefighters, JBLM soldiers, and others! Way to help spread compassion in your community, Salish!
Interested in helping the district review instructional materials? The IMC meets five times a year and is composed of teachers, librarians, and community members. Currently, they are looking for community members representing high school and middle schools. More information.
NTPS is participating in a District-Wide compassionate community project to help families in need. We are collecting coins for the new Lacey Food Bank! Look for donation jars in the District Office and your school. Help us to help the Lacey Food Bank become a reality in our area. The Thurston County Food Bank is looking to open a Lacey branch and we want to help them make it a reality! Give a penny and help out!
