Military Family Support at NTPS

  • Welcome BACK NTPS Military Families to the new 2020-2021 school year! The Military Support Team is currently working remotely at this time. We are readily available to assist you via email or phone everyday from 7:30 - 3:00pm. 
     
    Due to our current COVID-19 situation, we know many of you may have questions and concerns. The Military Support Team is here to provide you with the most up to date information and are ready to support or assist you with your individual needs. 
     
    As we work to strengthen our partnership with JBLM, NTPS would like to introduce our Military Support Team, Carmen Lopez, NTPS Military Liaison, and Adrienne Perez, NTPS Military Family and Student Support. They are excited about facilitating outreach and advocacy between North Thurston Public Schools, Joint Base Lewis-McChord and the District’s military-connected families.

  • Be on the lookout for Federal Impact Aid Surveys in your mail. The 2020-2021 Federal Impact Aid Surveys will be distributed to all students on October 1, 2020. All active duty parents and guardians are asked to complete the form, sign, and date it in ink. Completed forms should be returned to as soon as possible.

Operation Backpack for Military-Connected Students

    Operation Backpack Sponsored by Military Officers Association of America (MOAA)

    Thanks to a $5000 grant to the Olympia Area Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America, and in partnership with Thurston County Veterans Services, the Moore-Wright Group, and Costco, backpacks filled with school supplies will be available for our military connected students enrolled at Komachin, Salish and North Thurston High School. Priority distribution is to those students in most need of assistance. If your student is still in the need of Backpack, please contact the Military Support Team at 360-412-4408 to schedule a pick up date and time.

    Military Families, communities, and Veterans are experiencing intense challenges during this global pandemic. To identify these pain polls, the Blue Star Family Organization launched the COVID-19 MILITARY FAMILIES PAIN POLL. The Pain Poll operates in real time allowing us to alert military, government, and nonprofit leaders to challenges as they arise in the weeks to come.
