2023 Review of Elementary School Boundaries
-
At the January 10 School Board meeting, the Board approved an elementary school boundary review. Board approval was the first step in the process.
A committee of NTPS school staff, family members, and high school students will review school boundaries in the first half of 2023 and bring any recommendations to the School Board this spring. The focus of the review is elementary schools. Our elementary school’s K-5 student population range from 384 to 656 students. See our current school boundary map >>
The review may not result in any changes—it’s good practice to review boundaries periodically.
Meeting materials, committee roster, and the dates for community forums will be posted here. Please check back!

Guiding Principles
-
As with previous boundary reviews, the committee will use these guiding principles:
- Balanced schools in terms of size and socioeconomic diversity
- Continuity in the K-12 experience for students
- Efficient and effective transportation—kids are in classrooms and not buses, and use walk zones when appropriate

Can I join the committee?
Please contact your school's leadership to see if they are looking for members to represent their school on the committee.
-
Will there be a chance for public comment?
Yes. In the early spring, more than one community forum will be scheduled so community members may hear the latest from the committee and weigh in on the options. Dates, times, and locations will be announced district-wide to all NTPS families.
