Family & Youth Resource Center (FYR Center)

  • A place for NTPS families & students in need to find help and other resources. We are in the Rajinder S. Manhas Activity Center adjacent to North Thurston High School (the old Bally's building).

    What we do

    • A place for NTPS families & students in need to find help and other resources
    • One-stop destination for services and supplies
    • Provide hygiene supplies, laundry supplies, food, school supplies and clothing
    • Intakes for McKinney-Vento
    • Showers, laundry and meet with community service providers
    • Community partners include: Community Action Council, Community Youth Service, DSHS, Family Education Support Services, Family Support Center, Health Care Authority, and Kaiser Medical
    • Serve Foster Care students
    • Social – Emotional Learning Instructional Specialists support SE learning across the district
    • ECEAP Staff are based out of the Center and provide preschool services at the adjacent Family Partnership Center
    • Military Support Staff – Support military students and families in the district

Services During Closure

  • North Thurston Public Schools is committed to serving our families during the school closure. We will serve families with 'drive up and go' hygiene bags, food and school supplies during the following times: 


      Services provided only to families with students actively enrolled in North Thurston Public Schools.

      Thursdays 11:00am to 3:00pm

      2-day supply of food and fresh produce (when available)

      Paper towels, toilet paper and laundry soap

      (Drive through with car only – No walk-up service)

       Walk-Up Wednesdays 9:00am to 11:00am – Food and paper products for those families walking or using public transportation

       *Hygiene Supplies distributed the 1st Thursday of each month*

      *Diapers/wipes and feminine products available upon request*

      The FYR Center will follow the school calendar and will not distribute on scheduled school breaks or in case of inclement weather-related building closures.

      Donations are still being accepted on Tuesdays from 11 am – 1 pm (see needed item list below)

  • Due to construction we will not be able to accept donations at the FYR Center 10/19 - 10/30. Thank you for your understanding and support

      • *New packages of socks and underwear - all sizes

      • *New T-shirts and Hoodie Sweatshirts- all sizes (birth to adult XXXL)
      • *New joggers/ athletic pants- all sizes (birth to adult XXXL)
      • *New shoes- male and female size 1-14

      • 2 x 2 Sticky Notes
      • Earbuds/headphones
      • Graph paper
      • Spiral Notebooks
      • 24 pack Crayons
      • Highlighters


      *At this time we still can not accept used clothing or bedding but new clothes still with tags or in packages would be greatly appreciated.

    Donations accepted Tuesdays from 11:00a-1:00p
