Welcome to the River Ridge Gay Straight Alliance!

  • Our club advisors:

If you are interested in participating, please send Shawn Harris your name and the email address where you would like to receive GSA communications.

    Club Description

    • The River Ridge Gay/Straight Alliance (GSA)  is a school-sponsored club for students who identify as LGBTQIA+ or as an ally.
    • LGBTQIA+ stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning/Queer, Intersex, Asexual students and their Allies. The “+” is to make sure we are being inclusive; if you don’t have a label or if the labels above don’t work, you (of course) are still welcome!
    • The primary purpose of GSA is to provide a safe, supportive gathering and social space for LGBTQIA+ students.
    • In past years, the club has also done awareness activities on campus, such as Awareness Week (rainbow face-painting, handing out skittles with positive LGBTQIA+ messages, putting posters and signs on campus) and we have participated in our school’s Cultural Awareness Assembly.
