World Languages offer important skills and exciting learning opportunities for students in the North Thurston Public Schools. Teachers help students gain communicative skills and cultural understanding and competence using interactive linguistic strategies. Many teachers offer students the opportunity to increase their language and cultural knowledge through educational international travel.

Established by the legislature (RCW 28A.300.575) and OSPI in 2015, the Washington State Seal of Biliteracy is established to recognize public high school graduates who have attained a high level of proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing in one or more world languages in addition to English.
