Room: Orchestra Room 22
Welcome to my webpage! What an exciting year ahead as staff, students and families open our new Salish Middle School. I am looking forward to being a part of this new community. This is my ninth year as a public music educator in the North Thurston School District. Offering middle school students the opportunity to develop their individual playing skills and their ensemble technique will be challenging and thrilling. I look forward to helping the sixth grade students settle in to middle school and to assisting the 7th and 8th blended grades from two schools build their relationships. I will also be helping fifth graders at Olympic View and Lacey Elementary begin their Orchestral experience. I have a Bachelors of Arts in Violin Performance from Washington State University and completed my teaching credentials at St. Martin's University with endorsements in string instruction, choral instruction and general music. I teach violin privately from my home, a privilege I have had for 30 years. I have been a member of the Olympia Symphony and served as Concert Master of the Olympia Chamber Orchestra. I have conducted children's orchestras when on staff with the Capitol Area Youth Symphony and the Student Orchestras of Greater Olympia.
