  • Harvest Fair at Lakes

    Welcome to Lakes Fall Harvest Fair held on Thursday, October 20th, 6-7:30pm. This is a free and fun family event. Kids can win prizes and candy! Join us in the library, gym and music room. Donations of candy and store bought cakes would be greatly appreciated for the cake walk. Kids can come dressed up in an appropriate costume to celebrate this great community event!

  • Welcome New Vice Principal Kristen Hillman!

    Welcome Kristen Hillman, the new Assistant Principal for Lakes Elementary. She will replace Heather McCarthy who has been hired as Principal at Mountain View. Kristen comes to us from the Franklin-Pierce District where she has worked as a teacher in grades K,3,4 and 5. She has served a variety of leadership roles including work around PBIS, Safety, Bond and Curriculum Advisory. She was also a Washington Reading Corps Grant Coordinator and coordinated building relationships with ELL families and educational evening events for families. A graduate from the Bethel School District and Western Washington University, Kristen attended the University of Washington-Tacoma, where she received both her Masters of Education (At-Risk Youth) and Principal Certification. She enjoys reading, gardening and is known for her sense of humor and building positive relationships. She will serve with Principal Jami Roberts this fall at Lakes.

    At Lakes, we have been reviewing our three rules: Be Respectful, Be Responsible and Be Safe and teaching the students how these rules apply to the different areas in the school. Conflict or disagreement is normal and often happens when children get together. Our goal at Lakes is to teach students several positive ways to deal with these situations.
