PBIS- Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports.
At Lakes, we have been reviewing our three rules: Be Respectful, Be Responsible and Be Safe and teaching the students how these rules apply to the different areas in the school. Conflict or disagreement is normal and often happens when children get together. Our goal at Lakes is to teach students several positive ways to deal with these situations. To do this, we are asking students who have a minor problem to try to do at least two of the following ideas: Click "Kelso's Choices" link to find out more...
WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) is designed to engage men, inspire children, reduce bullying and enhance the educational environment at our school. WATCH D.O.G.S. fathers and father figures who volunteer are asked to serve at least one day a year in a variety of school activities. At our kickoff, dads and students learned that through the WATCH D.O.G.S. program, they will have the opportunity to spend time at the school which will help their families as well as the school as a whole.
