Every student upon enrollment is given an account for breakfast, lunch and milk. Each student will have an envelope in their classroom to use to make a deposit into their account. Each morning your student's teacher will take attendance, ask the students to raise their hand if they are having hot lunch and who has lunch money. After roll is taken a student will bring the Money Folder to the office for input into MealTime. MealTime is a program that keeps track of deposits and meals served. When it is time for lunch, classes will line up at the MealTime computer and will proceed through the serving line. If a student has one meal left or less the cook will stamp their hand with a red smiley face to remind them to tell parents they need more money.
Each year our Food & Nutrtion Department will mail a Free & Reduced Meal Application to each family. We encourage all families to apply as this helps us receive extra adult assistantsto help our students in the classroom. Please fill out the application and promptly mail it back to them. This way there is no interruption of benefits from the program. For our new families, please pick up an application at the front office.
For students returning or transferring in from one of our sister schools who were approved for the program the previous school year, your student(s) will still receive the same benefits. It is very important to note that you have a grace period and you must have a new application turned in prior to October 17 or your student(s) meals will return to regular price (need to allow 10 days for processing). If you have any questions please don't hesitate to call412-4690 or you can contact our Food & Nutrition department at 412-4446.
No child will go without lunch. Cereal and milk will be provided for students whose lunch account has a negative balance. You can monitor your student's account by clicking on the link below to set up a Meal Time account. For safety reasons teachers are not permitted to cook or warm up food brought from home.
