I have been the school counselor at Lakes Elementary since Fall 2006. I hold a Master Degree in Education and Washington ESA certificate in School Counseling from St. Martin's University. My B.A. is from the University of Oregon. Before working in schools, I worked in the field of social work. I served in the U.S. Peace Corps from 1995-1997 in Honduras working with teachers and children. I enjoy working with youth and helping our students be successful learners.
As the school counselor, I am available to meet with children individually to solve problems, counsel, and provide support. I also host lunch groups to support social skills. Your child may find me in the classroom leading lessons in bullying prevention and problem-solving. I am available to meet with parents and caretakers to discuss your child's social and emotional health.
Please feel free to contact me by phone or e-mail. I check my e-mail often throughout the day. You also may call to schedule an appointment to meet with me. I am available Monday-Friday from 7:35am - 3:05pm.
