North Thurston Public Schools takes "Learning" seriously - not just for students but adults as well. To support "Learning for All", the District has researched best practices in Professional Development and believes in the National Staff Development Council's mission that:
To increase student learning, effective professional development must be an integral part of the School Improvement Plan and process.
Professional Development offerings are "All About Learning" and are provided to district staff including: teachers, administrators, Para-educators, substitute teachers and more.
MyLearningPlan was introduced in 2008 as a resource for providing learning opportunities for District staff. Staff may earn clock hours for participation at workshops. Certificated staff can also earn District Professional Development Time (DPDT) for workshops that occur outside their contracted work day.
