PROFESSIONAL BIOGRAPHY

Shelley has been a special education preschool teacher since 2002.  She earned her bachelor’s degree from Central Washington University and received her professional certificate from Pacific Lutheran University. She finished her master’s degree in 2005 from Lesley University. Shelley started her career at Evergreen Forest Elementary in the North Thurston Public Schools. She was chosen by her principal to be on the Student Improvement Planning Team where she helped create goals for all students to improve their learning. She also worked in an after school program working on a variety of skills with grades 2nd-5th. She currently works at Chambers Prairie Elementary.  She is one of the team leaders for preschool teachers in the district. Shelley has participated in many special classes for students on the Autism Spectrum from the University of Washington and Portland State University. She has also had the opportunity to attend many extra classes beyond her degree that will help students develop in the areas of social/emotional, adaptive, and cognitive.
